NM Archaeology Fair AND Blackwater Draw Annual Atlatl Competition!

Important Regarding Hours of Operation!!!
IMPORTANT NOTE: The museum will be closed for most of the week of October 21-27. We simply don't have the staff for that week due to conferences and events around campus. Please call before making your plans! We plan to be open Sunday, Tuesday after 1, Thursday after 1, and Saturday. We are trying to get coverage for the other times. Again, please call before making any plans regarding the museum, and remember that the site is always closed during the week this time of year.


Atlatl 2018!!! Woohoo!!
All: we are excited to announce that we have begun planning in earnest for our 18th Annual Atlatl Competition! This year's date will be October 27th, the last Saturday of the month as has been our tradition in years past. We will have our competition, as well as our special Director's Tour, so make sure to mark your calednars. Fall Hours at the Landmark
It's that time of year, y'all. It's bittersweet: yes, we're shutting down the site soon, and we're dropping down to our fall hours, but Atlatl Day is coming up, too! It's not all tears. Please take care when planning your trip to Blackwater Draw. For the last two weeks of August we will have Friday-Sunday hours ONLY. Friday 12/8 and 12/15 Closures for Student Research!
This Friday, December 8th, the museum will be closing at 2 p.m. in order to allow both students and staff to attend two thesis defenses scheduled for the afternoon. These are open to the public- please feel free to attend! At 3 p.m. in the Art and Anthropology Building, Room 110, Laura Steele will defend her thesis.
